Work at First Class Sailing

First Class Sailing is a leading Sailing School based in Shamrock Quay, Southampton operating 6 sailing vessels between 10 & 15m. We are looking for a part time Bosun who can look after the needs of our yachts between courses. This is a flexible role than can be adapted for the right person.

Initially 1-2 days per week, with the potential for more over the refit season, if complementary skills are held and as operations ramp up for 2026.

Essential Experience

• General Maintenance and upkeep of sailing yachts (or similar)
• Knowledge of marine diesel engines (or similar) to servicing standard
• Use of marine paints (or similar)
• Ropework and ensuring yachts are safely moored
• Documenting defects
• Part ordering/sourcing to keep ahead of business needs
• Ensuring safety equipment is in date, documented and flagging service requirements
• Ensure stock & cleanliness levels are maintained
• Planning and conducting refit tasks for the off season

Desirable

• Knowledge of the coding requirements of sailing yachts
• GRP layup experience
• Rigging Experience
• Electrical experience, DC & AC
